The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 6:46 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Cools, Forest, Marshall, Mockler, Moncion, Neufeld, Pratte and Woo (9).
In attendance: Sylvain Fleury and Olivier Leblanc-Laurendeau, analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, the committee continued its study on the financial implications and regional considerations of Canada's aging population. Daniel Béland, Professor and Canada Research Chair in Public Policy, University of Saskatchewan.
Mr. Marchand and Mr. Béland each made a statement and answered questions.
