The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 2:18 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cools, Marshall, Mockler, Neufeld, Ogilvie and Stewart Olsen (6).

In attendance: Sylvain Fleury and Olivier Leblanc-Laurendeau, analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, the committee continued its study on the Main Estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2018. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 27.)

WITNESS:

Kevin Page, President and CEO of the Institute of Fiscal Studies and Democracy, University of Ottawa.

Mr. Page made a statement and answered questions.
