The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 9:03 a.m., in the Adam Room, Delta Bessborough Hotel, the Honourable Percy Mockler presiding.

Senators present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Cools, Jaffer, Marshall, Mockler, Neufeld, Oh and Pratte (8).

In attendance: Alex Smith and Sylvain Fleury, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, the committee continued its study on the Minister of Finance's proposed changes to the Income Tax Act respecting the taxation of private corporations and the tax planning strategies involved. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 39.)

Steve McLellan, Chief Executive Officer.

Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce:

Darla Lindbjerg, President and Chief Executive Officer.

North Saskatoon Business Association:

Keith Moen, Executive Director.

Saskatchewan Medical Association:

Dr. Joanne Sivertson, President.

Senator Mockler made a statement.

Mr. McLellan, Ms. Lindbjerg and Mr. Moen each made a statement and answered questions.

At 10:31 a.m., the committee suspended.

At 10:45 a.m., the committee resumed.

Dr. Sivertson made a statement and answered questions.

At 11:37 a.m., the committee adjourned.
