The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met in camera this day at 9:31 a.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Cools, Eaton, Forest, Maltais, Marshall, Mockler and Pratte (8).

In attendance: Alex Smith and Sylvain Fleury, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, November 23, 2017, the committee continued its study of the expenses set out in Supplementary Estimates (B) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2018. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 53.)

It was agreed:

That senators' staff be allowed to remain in the room for the in camera portion of today's meeting.

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee examined a draft report in camera.

It was agreed:

That the draft report, as amended, be adopted;

That the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be empowered to approve the final version of the report, taking into consideration this meeting's discussions, and with the necessary editorial, grammatical, and translation changes required.

It was agreed:

That the chair be authorized to table the report in the Senate, at the earliest opportunity.

At 10:58 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
