The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day in camera, at 9:31 a.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Bellemare, Cools, Eaton, Marshall, Marwah, Mockler and Pratte (8).

In attendance: Alex Smith and Sylvain Fleury, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on February 15, 2018, the committee continued its examination of Supplementary Estimates (C) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2018. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 60.)

It was agreed:

That the senators' staff be permitted to remain in the room during the in camera meeting.

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)d), the committee considered a draft report in camera.

It was agreed:

That the draft report, as amended, be adopted;

That the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be authorized to approve the final version of the report, in light of the discussions today and making any changes deemed necessary in respect of format, grammar or translation;

That the chair be authorized to table the report in the Senate as soon as possible.

At 10:23 a.m., pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 15, 2018, the committee continued its examination of the Interim Estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2019.

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)d), the committee considered a draft report in camera.

It was agreed:

That the draft report, as amended, be adopted;

That the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be authorized to approve the final version of the report, in light of the discussions today and making any changes deemed necessary in respect of format, grammar or translation;

That the chair be authorized to table the report in Senate as soon as possible.
