The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 6:46 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Bellemare, Black (Alberta), Cools, Eaton, Jaffer, Marshall, Mockler, Moncion, Neufeld and Pratte (11).

In attendance: Alex Smith and Sylvain Fleury, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, the committee continued its study on the federal government's multi-billion dollar infrastructure funding program. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 7.)

WITNESSES:

Office of the Parliamentary Budget Officer:

Jean-Denis Fréchette, Parliamentary Budget Officer;

Mostafa Askari, Deputy Parliamentary Budget Officer;

Trevor Shaw, Economic Advisor-Analyst;

Negash Haile, Research Assistant.

Mr. Fréchette made a statement and, together with Mr. Shaw, Mr. Askari and Mr. Haile, answered questions.

At 7:57 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 8:02 p.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to consider a draft agenda (future business).

At 8:39 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
