The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 9:02 a.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Cools, Dagenais, Day, Deacon, Jaffer, Marshall, Mitchell, Mockler, Moncion, Pratte and Seidman (12).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Griffin (1)
In attendance: Alex Smith and Sylvain Fleury, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, the committee continued its study of all of Bill C-74, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on February 27, 2018 and other measures. (For complete text of the order of reference see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 65.)

The minister made a statement and, together with Ms. Anderson, Ms. Ryan and Mr. Marsland, answered questions.
At 10:06 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:11 a.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to study a draft report.
It was agreed that the senators' staff be permitted to remain in the room during the in camera portion of the meeting.
The committee considered a draft report.
It was agreed that the chair of the committee ask for the consent of the Senate, if needed, to table the report of the committee on the content of Bill C-74 if the bill is received in the Senate before the committee has adopted its report.
At 10:47 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
