The Standing Senate Committee on Official Languages met in camera this day at 5:35 p.m., in room 257, East Block, the chair, the Honourable Claudette Tardif, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Fraser, Jaffer, McIntyre, Mockler, Poirier, Rivard, Seidman and Tardif (8).
In attendance: Marie-Ève Hudon, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft agenda (future business).
After debate, it was agreed:
That the Standing Senate Committee on Official Languages consider a study on access to French language schools and French immersion programs in British Columbia
At 6:10 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 6:15 p.m., the committee resumed in public.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, the committee continued its study on the application of the Official Languages Act and of the regulations and directives made under it, within those institutions subject to the Act. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 2.)

Office of the French Language Services Commissioner of Ontario:
François Boileau, French Language Services Commissioner.
Ms. d'Entremont and Mr. Boileau each made a statement and answered questions.
At 7:30 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
