The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day at 10:31 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Kelvin Kenneth Ogilvie, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cormier, Dean, Frum, Hartling, McPhedran, Mégie, Neufeld, Ogilvie, Petitclerc, Raine, Seidman and Stewart Olsen (12).
In attendance: Marlisa Tiedemann, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, March 9, 2017, the committee continued its examination of Bill S-5, An Act to amend the Tobacco Act and the Non-smokers' Health Act and to make consequential amendments to other Acts.

Mr. David and Ms Sinnis each made a statement and answered questions.
At 11:28 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 11:31 a.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Gagnon and Mr. Luongo each made a statement and, together with Mr. Klander, answered questions.
At 12:17 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
