The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day at 10:30 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Kelvin Kenneth Ogilvie, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cormier, Dean, Doyle, Eaton, Eggleton, P.C., Mégie, Ogilvie, Omidvar, Petitclerc, Poirier, Seidman and Stewart Olsen (12).
In attendance: Sonya Norris, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, the committee continued its examination of Bill C-277, An Act providing for the development of a framework on palliative care in Canada.

Canadian Geriatrics Society:

Dr. Jill Rice, Interim Medical Chief, Department of Palliative Medicine, Bruyère Continuing Care.
Ontario Long Term Care Association:
Candace Chartier, Executive Chair.
The chair made a statement.
Ms. Pullen, Dr. Henderson and Dr. Molnar each made a statement and answered questions.
At 11:28 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 11:31 a.m., the committee resumed.
Ms. Kitts, Dr. Rice and Ms. Chartier each made a statement and answered questions.
At 12:17 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
