The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs has the honour to present its

THIRD REPORT

Your Committee, which was authorized by the Senate on Tuesday, May 9, 2006, to examine such issues as may arise from time to time relating to foreign relations generally, respectfully requests that it be empowered to engage the services of such counsel and technical, clerical and other personnel as may be necessary for the purpose of its study, and to travel within and outside Canada for the purposes of such study.

Pursuant to section 2(1)(c) of Chapter 3:06 of the Senate Administrative Rules, the budget submitted to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration and the report thereon of that Committee are appended to this report.

The Honourable Senator Segal moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Di Nino:

That the Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, in accordance with Rule 86(1)(h), be authorized to examine such issues as may arise from time to time relating to Foreign relations generally; and

That the committee report to the Senate no later that March 31, 2007.

The question being put on the motion, as modified, it was adopted.

The Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration has examined the budget presented to it by the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs for the proposed expenditures of the said Committee for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2007 for the purpose of its Special Study to examine such issues that may arise from time to time relating to foreign relations generally, as authorized by the Senate on Tuesday, May 9, 2006.
