The Honourable Senator Jaffer, Chair of the Standing Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs, tabled the sixth report of the committee (Subject matter of Bill C-30, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on April 19, 2021 and other measures).—Sessional Paper No. 2/43-873S.
(Pursuant to the order adopted May 4, 2021, the report was deemed referred to the Standing Senate Committee on National Finance and placed on Orders of the Day for consideration at the next sitting.)
The Honourable Senator Seidman, Chair of the Standing Committee on Ethics and Conflict of Interest for Senators, presented the third report (interim) of the committee, entitled Consideration of matters relating to the Ethics and Conflict of Interest Code for Senators.

That, in accordance with rule 10-11(1), the Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources be authorized to examine the subject matter of Bill C-12, An Act respecting transparency and accountability in Canada’s efforts to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2050, introduced in the House of Commons on November 19, 2020, in advance of the said bill coming before the Senate; and
That, for the purposes of this study, the committee be authorized to meet even though the Senate may then be sitting, with the application of rule 12-18(1) being suspended in relation thereto.
