The Honourable Senator Omidvar, Chair of the Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology, presented the committee’s tenth report (Bill S-246, An Act respecting Lebanese Heritage Month, without amendment).

First Reading of Commons Public Bills

A message was brought from the House of Commons with Bill C-228, An Act to amend the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act and the Pension Benefits Standards Act, 1985, to which it desires the concurrence of the Senate.

The bill was read the first time.

The Honourable Senator Martin moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Seidman, that the bill be placed on the Orders of the Day for a second reading two days hence.

Pursuant to the order adopted December 7, 2021, the Honourable Senator Gagné informed the Senate that Question Period with the Honourable Gudie Hutchings, P.C., M.P., Minister of Rural Economic Development, will take place on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 2:30 p.m.
