AFTERNOON MEETING

The Special Committee of the Senate on Bill C-110, An Act respecting constitutional amendments, met at 9:38 a.m. this day, the Chair, the Honourable Senator Noël A. Kinsella, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Beaudoin, Carstairs, De Bané, P.C., Gauthier, Kinsella, MacEachen, P.C., Marchand, P.C. Meighen, Murray, P.C., Rivest and St. Germain, P.C. (12)

Other Senators present: The Honourable Senators Austin and Nolin.

Members of the House of Commons present: Svend Robinson (Burnaby-Kingsway).

In attendance: From the Research Branch, Library of Parliament: Mollie Dunsmuir, Law and Government Division; Brian O'Neal and Jack Stilborn, Political and Social Affairs Division.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

The Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-110, An Act respecting constitutional amendments.

André Tremblay made a statement and answered questions.

Minister Petter made a statement and answered questions.

It was agreed, - That the presentation by the Honourable Andrew Petter, be filed with the Clerk of the Committee as Exhibit 5700 - 1.35 / C-110 "4".

At 12:20 p.m., the Committee adjourned.

John D. Whyte made a statement and answered questions.
