The Special Committee of the Senate on the Pearson Airport Agreements met this day at 9:33 a.m., the Chair, the Honourable Senator Finlay MacDonald (Halifax ), presiding.

Members of the Committee present: The Honourable Senators Bryden, Hervieux-Payette, Jessiman, Kirby, LeBreton, MacDonald (Halifax) and Tkachuk. (7)

In attendance: John Nelligan, Q.C., Counsel to the Committee.

Gerry Berigan, Regional Director for Airports, Atlantic Region;

Wayne Power, Director of Transition, Pearson International Airport.

Afternoon:

Ron Lane (retired), Member of the Evaluation Committee;

D.G. Dickson, Former Director General, Financial Policy and Operations;

John Cloutier, Senior Financial Advisor, Airport Tranfers.

The Committee resumed its examination of the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on May 4, 1995. The Clerk of the Committee administered the oath/solemn affirmation and declaration to the witnesses, pursuant to section 13 of the Parliament of Canada Act.

Gerry Berigan and Wayne Power made a statement and answered questions.

At 11:59 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:30 p.m., the sitting resumed.

D.G. Dickson, Ron Lane and John Cloutier made a statement and answered questions.

At 3:29 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
