The Special Committee of the Senate on the Pearson Airport Agreements met this day at 9:00 a.m., the Chair, the Honourable Senator Finlay MacDonald (Halifax ), presiding.

Members of the Committee present: The Honourable Senators Bryden, Carstairs (from 3:30 p.m.) Jessiman, Kirby, LeBreton, Losier-Cool, Lynch-Staunton, MacDonald (Halifax) and Tkachuk. (8)

Other Senators present: The Honourable Senators Berntson and Doyle.

In attendance: John Nelligan, Q.C., Counsel to the Committee.

WITNESSES:

Robert Nixon, Chairman of the Board, Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd.;

Allan Crosbie, Crosbie & Company Inc.;

Stephen Goudge, Gowling, Strathy and Henderson.

The witnesses made a statement and answered questions.

At 12:00 o'clock noon, the Committee recessed.

At 1:00 p.m., the Committee resumed.

It was agreed that staff be instructed to compile a complete list of all documents received by the Committee and that this list be filed as an exhibit (1-1#0000).

At 5:25 p.m., the Committee adjourned.
