The subcommittee on Boreal Forest of the Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met at 5:04 p.m. this day, in Room 172-E, Centre Block, the Chair, the Honourable Senator Doris Anderson, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Anderson and Taylor (2).

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw, Research Officer; Barbara Robson, Media Relations Officer of the subcommittee.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to its order of reference to study the present and future of forestry in Canada: study of the Boreal Forest.

WITNESS:

From the Office of the Auditor General:

Mr. Brian Emmett, Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development.

Mr. Emmett made a statement and answered questions.

At 5:55 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
