The Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and met at 9:30 a.m. this day, the Chairman, the Honourable Senator Kenny presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators, DeBané, Di Nino, Kenny, LeBreton, Nolin, Petten, Rompkey and Stollery (8).
In attendance: Mr. Paul Bélisle, Clerk of the Senate and other Senate officials.
It was agreed that the committee proceed in camera.
At 1:30 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.

4) Social Affairs (Post-Secondary Education) $ 18,000
5) Canadian Airborne Regiment in Somalia $298,000
6) Transport and Communication (Transportation Safety) $ 73,870
7) Transport and Communication (Communications) $ 51,700
8) Foreign Affairs (Asia Pacific Region) $ 30,000
Official Languages Policy
The committee proceeded to the consideration of the Senate's compliance with the provisions of the Official Languages Act.

It was agreed that staff prepare a proposal to keep the committee better informed of the issue and report back.
