The Subcommittee on Transportation Safety of the Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met at 9:33 a.m. this day, in Montreal, the Chair, the Honourable J. Michael Forrestall, presiding.
Members of the subcommittee present: The Honourable Senators Adams, Bacon, Forrestall and Rivest. (4)
In attendance: John Christopher, Research Officer, Research Branch, Library of Parliament; Bruce Carson, Senior Adviser; Keith Miller, Special Adviser on Aviation.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
The subcommittee proceeded to consider the state of transportation safety and security in Canada pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on October 2, 1996 and the resolution of the committee adopted on October 24, 1996.
