The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met in camera at 9:05 a.m. this day, in Room 705 Victoria Building.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Chalifoux, Hays,Robichaud (Saint-Louis-de-Kent), Rossiter, and Taylor (5).

Pursuant to its order of reference to study the present state and the future of forestry in Canada,consideration of the draft report.

The Clerk informed the committee of the unavoidable absence of the Chair and Deputy Chair.

Pursuant to rule 11, the Clerk of the committee presided over the election of the acting Chair.

It was moved by the Honourable Senator Robichaud (Saint-Louis-de-Kent) - That the Honourable Senator Hays be acting Chair of the committee for this meeting. - Agreed.

It was moved by the Honourable Rossiter - That the Chair of the Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry and the Chair of the Subcommittee on the Boreal Forest be authorized to receive, adopt and report to the Senate, the report of the Subcommittee on Boreal Forest.

The question being put on the motion, it was agreed.

At 9:10 a.m. the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
