The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met in camera this day at 3:45 p.m., in Room 172-E, Centre Block, the Chair, the Honourable Senator Poulin, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Adams, Johnson, Maheu, Poulin, Roberge and Rompkey, P.C. (6).

In attendance: Terrence J. Thomas, Research Officer, Economics Division, Research Branch, Library of Parliament.

The committee proceeded in camera to consider future business of the committee.

The Honourable Senator Rompkey, P.C. moved that the proposed order of reference for the special study on traditional and modern media be approved for presentation to the Senate.

After debate, the question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

The Honourable Senator Roberge moved that the following budget application for the Subcommittee on Communications be approved for submission to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration.

After debate, the question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
