The Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources met at 9:30 a.m. this day, in Room 257, East Block, the Chair, the Honourable Mira Spivak, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Adams, Banks, Boudreau, P.C., Buchanan, P.C., Christensen, Cochrane, Finnerty, Kelleher, P.C., Kenny, Murray, P.C., Sibbeston, Spivak and Taylor (13).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Graham, P.C., and Maheu.
In attendance: The official reporters of the Senate and from the Library of Parliament, Lynne Myers and Kevin Kerr, researchers.
The committee, in compliance with its Order of Reference dated June 15, 2000, proceeded to study Bill C-11, (Cape Breton Act). (See Issue No. 17, June 20, 2000, for the full text of the order of Reference.)
