The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs met at 6:00 p..m. this day in room 160-S, Centre Block, the Chair, the Honourable Peter Stollery, presiding.
Members of the committee presents: The Honourable Senators Bolduc, Corbin, DeBané P.C., Di Nino, Grafstein, Stollery and Taylor (7).
Other senators presents: The Honourable Senators Forrestall, Prud'homme, P.C., and Roche (3).
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Peter Berg.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Mrs. Kathryn E. McCallion, Assistant Deputy Minister, Corporate Services, Passport and Consular Affairs;
Mr. Paul Meyer, Director General, International Security Bureau;
Mrs. Jill Sinclair, Director General, Global and Human Issues Bureau;
Mr. William Crosbie, Acting Director General, Trade and Policy II -- Services, Investment and Intellectual Property Bureau;
Mr. David Karsgaard, Director, Economic Relations with Developing Countries Division.
The committee proceeded to consider its examination of the Performance Report of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade for the period ending March 31, 1999, tabled in the Senate on November 2, 1999.
The witnesses all made statements and answered questions.
At 8:00 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
