Extract from the Journals of the Senate of Tuesday, March 28, 2000:
Resuming debate on the motion of the Honourable Senator Hays, seconded by the Honourable Senator Adams, for the second reading of Bill C-2, An Act respecting the election of members to the House of Commons, repealing other Acts relating to elections and making consequential amendments to other Acts.
After debate,
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
The bill was then read the second time.
The Honourable Senator Hays moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Bryden, that the bill be referred to the Standing Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs.
