The Standing Committee on Privileges, Standing Rules and Orders met at 4:35 a.m. this day, the Chair, the Honourable Senator Austin, P.C., presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Austin, P.C., Beaudoin, DeWare, Grimard, Kroft, Perry, Robichaud, P.C. (L'Acadie-Acadia ), Robichaud, P.C. (St-Louis-de-Kent) and Rossiter (9).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Corbin and Sparrow (3).
In attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
The committee proceeded to the consideration of the request by Senator Taylor for suspension of rule 106 with regards to the proposed private bill concerning the Moravian Church.
After debate,
It was agreed that the provisions of rule 106 be waived in relation to the proposed bill regarding the Moravian Church and that a report be made to the Senate.
The committee proceeded to the consideration of the question of privilege raised by the Honourable Senator Andreychuk.
After debate,
It was agreed that further debate be adjourned to the call of the Chair.
At 6:00 p.m., the meeting adjourned to the call of the Chair.
