The Standing Committee on Privileges, Standing Rules and Orders met, in camera, at 12:05 p.m. this day, the Deputy Chair, the Honourable Senator Grimard, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Beaudoin, Corbin, DeWare, Di Nino, Grafstein, Grimard, Joyal, P.C., Kinsella, Kroft, Robichaud, P.C. (L'Acadie-Acadia) and Rossiter (11).

In attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

At 1:10 p.m., the meeting adjourned until Wednesday, December 15, 1999 at 12:00 p.m.

The Standing Committee on Privileges, Standing Rules and Orders met, in camera, at 12:10 p.m. this day, the Deputy Chair, the Honourable Senator Grimard, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Austin, P.C., Beaudoin, Corbin, DeWare, Di Nino, Grafstein, Grimard, Joyal, P.C., Kroft, Losier-Cool, Robichaud. P.C. (L'Acadie-Acadia) and Rossiter (11).

Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Bacon and Prud'homme, P.C. (2).

In attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

At 12:18, it was agreed that the committee proceed in public.

It was agreed that Senator Corbin be nominated as the third member of the Steering Committee to replace Senator Pépin who withdrew from the committee.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of the question of privilege raised by Senator Bacon.

After debate,

It was agreed that further consideration of the question of privilege be postponed until the next meeting of the committee.

At 1:30 p.m., the meeting adjourned to the call of the Chair.
