The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 7:12 p.m. in Room 160-S, Centre Block, the Chair, the Honourable Senator Leonard J. Gustafson, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Chalifoux, Fairbairn, P.C., Gustafson, Milne, Stratton, Tunney and Wiebe (7).
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: June Dewetering.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

The Honourable Ralph E. Goodale, P.C., M.P., Minister responsible for the Canadian Wheat Board and Minister of Natural Resources

Howard Migie, Director General, Marketing Policy Directorate, Strategic Policy Branch
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, March 20, 2001, the committee continues to examine international trade in agricultural and agri-food products, and short-term and long-term measures for the health of the agricultural and the agri-food industry in all regions of Canada.
Mr. Goodale made an opening statement and answered questions.
At 9:02 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
