The Standing Committee on Banking, Trade and commerce met at 11:05 a.m. this day, in room 505, Victoria Building, the Chair, the Honourable Senator Kolber, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Callbeck, Eyton, Fitzpatrick, Hervieux-Payette, P.C., Gustafson, Kelleher, P.C., Kolber, Oliver, Poulin, Setlakwe, Taylor and Tkachuk (12).
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch, Library of Parliament, Law and Government Division: Mr. Geoff Kieley, Research Officer.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, February 5, 2002, the committee continued its examination of Bill C-23, An Act to amend the Competition Act and the Competition Tribunal Act.

From the Canadian Council of Chief Executives:
Mr. John Dillon, Vice President and Legal Counsel.
From the Canadian Petroleum Products Institute:

Mr. Taller from ACTA made a statement and answered questions.
Mr. Dillon of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives made a statement and with Mr. Perez from the Canadian Petroleum Products Institute answered questions.
At 12:30 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
