The Standing Committee on Banking, Trade and commerce met at 3:50 p.m. this day, in room 505, Victoria Building, the Chair, the Honourable Senator Kolber, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Di Nino, Fitzpatrick, Furey, Kelleher, P.C., Kolber, Kroft, Poulin, Setlakwe and Tkachuk (9).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Eyton and Gustafson (2).
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch, Library of Parliament, Law and Government Division: Mr. Geoff Kieley, Research Officer.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, February 5, 2002, the committee continued its examination of Bill C-23, An Act to amend the Competition Act and the Competition Tribunal Act.
