The Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence

November 19 – 22, 2001


The Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence will be in Victoria, British Columbia from Monday, November 19, to Wednesday, November 21, and in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Thursday, November 22 to discuss matters relating to national defence and security generally, including Veterans affairs.  The following is an itinerary for the visit. All times local.

Briefing by Mr. Craig Richmond, Vice-President, Airport Operations, Vancouver International Airport, Mr. Tom Priest, Director of Security and Police Liaison, Vancouver International Airport and Mr. Brian Bramah, Regional Director, Security and Emergency Preparedness, Transport Canada.  Airport Authority will give general overview of airport operations, including a description of responsibilities, Transport Canada regulations and the processing of issuing passes.

Tour of CC-130 Hercules (aircraft used for transport, search and rescue and air-to-air refueling) with Lieutenant Colonel Tom Whitburn, Squadron 435.
