The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met at 5:45 p.m., this day, in Room 705, Victoria Building, the Chair, the Honourable Senator Lowell Murray, P.C., presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bolduc, Cools, Doody, Finnerty, Kinsella, Murray, P.C., Tunney and Wiebe (8).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Watt (1).
In attendance: Mr. Guy Beaumier, Research Officer, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Keith Coulter, Assistant Secretary, Planning, Performance and Reporting Sector;
Andrew M. Lieff, Director, Expenditure Operations and Estimates Division;
J. Kevin Lindsey, Director, Expenditure Operations, Expenditure Operations and Estimates Division, Planning, Performance and Reporting Sector.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on March 1, 2001, the committee undertook its examination of the expenditures set out in the Estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2002.
Mr. Coulter made an opening statement and, with Mr. Lindsay and Mr. Lieff, answered questions from members of the committee.
At 7:17 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
