From the Monarchist League of Canada:

Mr. John Aimers, Dominion Chairman;

Mr. Paul Benoit, Dominion Vice-Chairman.

From the University of Saskatchewan:

Dr. David Smith, professor.

The committee resumed its consideration of Bill S-34, An Act respecting royal assent to bills passed by the Houses of Parliament.

Mr. Aimers made a statement and, with Mr. Benoit, answered questions.

Professor David Smith made a statement and answered questions.

Senator Grafstein presented draft amendments to Bill S-34.

After debate,

It was agreed that further consideration of Bill S-34 be adjourned until the next meeting of the committee.

After debate,

It was agreed that, pursuant to Rule 102, reasonable travelling and living expenses be paid to Mr. John Aimers and Dr. David Smith who were invited to appear before the committee this day.

At 1:29 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
