The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 9:35 a.m., in Room 256-S, Centre Block, the Chair, the Honourable Lise Bacon, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bacon, Callbeck, DeWare, Finestone, P.C., Fitzpatrick, Forrestall, Morin and Spivak (8).
In attendance: Martin Brennan, special advisor to the committee.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on February 7, 2001, the committee proceeded to study Bill S-3. (See Issue No. 2, Tuesday, March 13, 2001 and Wednesday, March 14, 2001, for full text of the Order of Reference).
WITNESS:
From the Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators (CCMTA):
Darren Christle, Director of Transportation Safety and Regulation.
The witness made a presentation and answered questions.
The Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators submitted a brief.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
At 11:00 a.m., it was agreed -- That the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
