The Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources met at 8:40 a.m. this day, in room 257 East Block, the Deputy Chair, the Honourable Mira Spivak, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Buchanan, P.C, Christensen, Cochrane, Finnerty, Merchant, Spivak and Watt (7).
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch, Library of Parliament: Lynne Myers, Research Analyst, Science and Technology and Frédéric Beauregard-Tellier, Economics Division.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, November 7, 2002, the committee continued its examination of emerging issues related to its mandate (implementation of the Kyoto Protocol). Ms. Gélinas made a statement and together the witnesses answered questions.
