The Standing Senate Committee on Human Rights met this day in camera at 5:35 p.m., in room 257, East Block, the Chair, the Honourable Shirley Maheu presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Beaudoin, Chaput, Ferretti Barth, Maheu and Rossiter (5).

In attendance: Carol Hilling, Research Analyst, Library of Parliament.

The committee resumed consideration of its Order of Reference pertaining to its examination of Canada's possible adherence to the American Convention on Human Rights.

The committee proceeded to study the draft report dated April 23, 2003.

It was agreed — That the draft report be adopted with all the amendments and corrections agreed to during the meeting and that the Chair table the report in the Senate.

At 6:55 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
