The Standing Senate Committee on Official Languages met this day at 5:25 p.m., in room 256-S, Centre Block, the Chair, the Honourable Rose-Marie Losier-Cool, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Beaudoin, Chaput, Comeau, Gauthier, Keon, Lapointe, Léger and Losier-Cool (8).
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch, Library of Parliament Marie-Ève Hudon.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on May 7, 2003 the committee proceeded to examine Bill S-11, An Act to amend the Official Languages Act (promotion of English and French).

Ms. Adam, Mr. Lemoine and Ms. Monnet each made a presentation and then together answered questions.
Ms. Scotton, Mr. Tremblay and Mr. Newman each made a presentation and then together answered questions.
Mr. Colvin made a presentation and answered questions.
At 7:25 p.m. the committee suspended.
At 7:35 p.m. the committee resumed.
Mr. Arès made a presentation and answered questions.
At 7:58 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
