The Special Senate Committee on the Anti-terrorism Act has the honour to table its
FIRST REPORT
Your Committee, which was authorized by the Senate to incur expenses for the purpose of undertaking a comprehensive review of the provisions and operation of the Anti-terrorism Act, (S.C. 2001, c.41), reports, pursuant to Rule 104, that the expenses incurred by the Committee during the First Session of the Thirty-Eighth Parliament are as follows:
Professional and Other Services $ 9,864.52 Transport and Communications 90,632.88 Other Expenditures — Witness Expenses 19,743.37 Total $ 120,240.77
During the session your Committee held 47 meetings, during which it received evidence from 189 witnesses. A total of more than 90 hours was spent in meetings. As part of its review of the Anti-terrorism Act, your Committee conducted fact-finding work in Washington, D.C. and London, United Kingdom.
