The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day at 4:02 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Art Eggleton, P.C., presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Banks, Callbeck, Cordy, Dyck, Eaton, Eggleton, P.C., Fairbairn, P.C., Keon, Martin, Ogilvie and Pépin (11).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Day (1).
In attendance: Trina Wall and Havi Echenberg, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, October 7, 2009, the committee continued its study on Bill C-6, An Act respecting the safety of consumer products. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 8).

Carol Osmond, Vice-President, Policy.
The chair made a statement.
Ms. Osmond made a presentation and answered questions.
At 5:49 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 5:50 p.m., the committee resumed to discuss future business.
At 6:00 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
