The Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs of the Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence met in camera this day at 12 p.m., in room 172-E, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable Antonius Roméo Dallaire, presiding.

Members of the subcommittee present: The Honourable Senators Dallaire, Manning, Pépin, Plett and Wallin (5).

In attendance: James S. Cox, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, and delegated on Monday, April 12, 2010 by the Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence, the subcommittee continued its study on the services and benefits provided to members of the Canadian Forces; to veterans; to members and former members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and their families. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the subcommittee, Issue No. 1.)

It was agreed that senators' staff be permitted to remain in the room.

Pursuant to rule 92(2)(e), the committee considered its draft agenda.

At 12:10 p.m. pursuant to rule 92(2)(f), the committee discussed its draft report.

At 1:08 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
