The Standing Committee on Rules, Procedures and the Rights of Parliament met this day at 12:12 p.m., in room 356-S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable David P. Smith, P.C. (Cobourg), presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Batters, Braley, Comeau, Fraser, Furey, Joyal, P.C., Manning, McCoy, Mockler, Smith, P.C. (Cobourg), Wallace and White (12).
In attendance: Mark Audcent, Law Clerk and Parliamentary Counsel, Senate of Canada; Sebastian Spano and Andre Barnes, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, the committee continued its study of a case of privilege relating to the reported interference with Canadians who wished to appear before the Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence.

The Honourable Senator Furey moved:
That the committee do now adjourn and that it reconvene when Rolly Beaulieu is invited back to appear as a witness.
With leave, the motion was withdrawn.
At 12:18 p.m., the Honourable Senator Comeau replaced the Honourable Senator Mockler as a member of the committee.
The Honourable Senator Comeau moved:
That the committee do now adjourn and that it reconvene at 6:45 p.m.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
At 12:35 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
