The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 6:45 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Dennis Dawson, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boisvenu, Dawson, Doyle, Greene, MacDonald, Martin, Unger, Verner, P.C. and Zimmer (9).
In attendance: Terrence J. Thomas, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament; Mona Ishack, Communications Officer, Communications Directorate.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 3, 2012, the committee continued its examination of the subject-matter of those elements contained in Division 41 of part 4 of Bill C-38, An Act to implement certain provision of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 29, 2012 and other measures.
WITNESSES:

John Keogh, Senior General Counsel;
Christianne Laizner, General Counsel, Telecommunications.
Mr. Keogh and Ms. Laizner each made opening statements and, together, answered questions.
At 7:35 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
