The Standing Committee on Rules, Procedures and the Rights of Parliament met this day at 9:32 a.m. in room 356-S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable Vernon White, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Batters, Cools, Dagenais, Doyle, Frum, Furey, Joyal, P.C., Martin, Nolin, Smith, P.C. (Cobourg), and White (12).

In attendance: Dara Lithwick, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament; Michel Bédard, Parliamentary Counsel, Senate Law Clerk's Office.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

The committee resumed its consideration of a draft report concerning amendments to the Rules of the Senate relating to the Ethics and Conflict of Interest Code for Senators.

At 10:26 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
