The Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs of the Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence met this day at 12 p.m. in room 257, East Block, for the purpose of electing a chair and a deputy chair.

Members of the subcommittee present: The Honourable Senators Day, Lang, Stewart Olsen and White (4).

In attendance: Martin Auger, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

The clerk of the subcommittee presided over the election of the chair.

The Honourable Senator White moved:

That the Honourable Senator Day be chair of this subcommittee.

The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

The clerk invited Senator Day to take the chair.

The chair presided over the election of the deputy chair.

The Honourable Senator White moved:

That the Honourable Senator Stewart Olsen be deputy chair of this subcommittee.

The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

At 12:05 p.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the subcommittee continued in camera to consider a draft agenda (future business).

At 12:21 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the chair.
