The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met inb camera this day at 9:32 a.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Larry W. Smith, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Bellemare, Cools, Forest, Marshall, Mockler, Moncion, Neufeld, Pratte, Runciman, Smith and Woo (12).

Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Mitchell (1).

It was agreed:

That the senators' staff be permitted to remain in the room during the in camera meeting.

It was agreed:

That the text submitted for the committee's consideration be added to the committee's report on Supplementary Estimates (C) and be considered an essential component as if it had been adopted with the rest of the text, on March 8, 2017.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, the committee continued its study on the Main Estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2018. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 27.)

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee proceeded in camera to consider a draft agenda.

It was agreed:

That the draft report, as amended, be adopted;

That the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be empowered to approve the final version of the report, taking into consideration this meeting's discussions, and with any necessary editorial, grammatical and translation changes required;

That the chair be authorized to table the report in the Senate, at the earliest opportunity.

At 11:13 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
