Extract from the Journals of the Senate, Thursday, November 23, 2017:

Resuming debate on the motion of the Honourable Senator MacDonald, seconded by the Honourable Senator Tkachuk, for the second reading of Bill S-238, An Act to amend the Fisheries Act and the Wild Animal and Plant Protection and Regulation of International and Interprovincial Trade Act (importation of shark fins).

After debate,

The question being put on the motion, it was adopted. The bill was then read the second time.

The Honourable Senator MacDonald moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Carignan, P.C., that the bill be referred to the Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans.
