The Standing Committee on Rules, Procedures and the Rights of Parliament met this day at 9:33 a.m., in room 257, East Block, the chair, the Honourable Leo Housakos, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Batters, Eggleton, P.C., Frum, Gold, Greene, Housakos, Joyal, P.C., Maltais, Marwah, Ringuette, Seidman, Sinclair, Wells and Woo (14).

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, the committee began its study to develop and propose amendments to the Rules of the Senate to establish the Standing Committee on Audit and Oversight.

WITNESS:

The Honourable Senator David M. Wells.

The chair made a statement.

The Honourable Senator Wells made a statement and answered questions.

At 10:48 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
