The Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs of the Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence met this day at 12:27 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Mobina S. B. Jaffer, presiding.

Members of the subcommittee present: The Honourable Senators Boniface, Dagenais, Jaffer, Lang, Meredith, Saint- Germain and White (7).

Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Beyak, Mockler and Wallin (3).

In attendance: Havi Echenberg and Jean-Rodrigue Paré, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to rule 12-13, the clerk of the subcommittee presided over the election of the chair.

The Honourable Senator Lang moved:

That the Honourable Senator Jaffer do take the chair of this subcommittee.

The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

The clerk invited Senator Jaffer to take the chair.

At 12:35 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the chair.
