The Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs of the Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence met this day at 12:04 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Mobina S.B. Jaffer, presiding.

Members of the subcommittee present: The Honourable Senators Dagenais, Jaffer, Wallin and White (4).

In attendance: Havi Echenberg, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, the subcommittee continued its study on issues relating to creating a defined, professional and consistent system for veterans as they leave the Canadian Armed Forces. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the subcommittee, Issue No. 6.)

WITNESS:

General Jonathan Vance, Chief of the Defence Staff.

The chair made a statement.

General Vance made a statement and answered questions.
