Pursuant to the order of the Senate of March 30, 2021, the Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met in camera this day by videoconference at 9:28 a.m. [ET], the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding. This meeting is considered to have taken place in the parliamentary precinct.

Members of the committee present by videoconference: The Honourable Senators Boehm, Dagenais, Dasko, Deacon (Ontario), Duncan, Forest, Klyne, Loffreda, Marshall, Mockler, Pate and Smith (12).

Participating in the meeting: Andrea Mugny, Procedural Clerk, Committees Directorate; Sylvain Fleury and Shaowei Pu, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 27, 2021, the committee continued its examination of the expenditures set out in the Supplementary Estimates (A) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022.

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft report.

It was agreed that each committee member be allowed to have one staff person present in Zoom during this in camera meeting.

It was agreed that the committee allow the transcription of today’s in camera meeting, that one copy be kept with the clerk of the committee for consultation by committee members and staff present; and that the transcript be destroyed by the clerk when authorized to do so by the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, but no later than at the end of this parliamentary session.

It was agreed that the draft report be adopted; and that the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be empowered to approve the final version of the report, taking into consideration this meeting's discussions, with any necessary editorial, grammatical and translation changes required.

It was agreed that the chair be authorized to table the report in the Senate, at the earliest opportunity.

At 11:03 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
