The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met this day at 4:13 p.m., in room C128, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Peter M. Boehm, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boehm, Boniface, Coyle, Deacon (Ontario), Gerba, Greene, Ravalia, Richards and Woo (9).

Other senators present: The Honourable Senator Kutcher (1).

Participating in the meeting: Nadia Faucher and Brian Hermon, analysts, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 10, 2022, the committee continued its study on foreign relations and international trade generally. (Topic: Consular Management in Emergency Situations)

Julie Sunday, Assistant Deputy Minister, Consular, Security and Emergency Management;

Sébastien Beaulieu, Director General and Chief Security Officer, Security and Emergency Management.

Julie Sunday made a statement and, together with Sébastien Beaulieu, answered questions.

At 5:15 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 5:17 p.m., pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 10, 2022, the committee continued its study on foreign relations and international trade generally. (Topic: Situation in Afghanistan)
